INTRODUCTION
The training program "Materials Engineering" is designed according to CDIO international standards and built based on the program of MIT – USA (the world's No. 1 in the field of materials), adapted to Vietnam's industry. The materials engineering program has been in existence for over 60 years, dating back to the formation and development of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The goal of the program is to train high-level human resources in the field of traditional material manufacturing technology, advanced materials, and nanostructures, from source materials to metal and alloy smelting processes, forming technology, metal-based composite materials, and ceramic substrates, as well as heat and surface treatment.
The content of the Materials Engineering training program aims to equip students with a solid foundation in technical and professional knowledge, practical skills, and the capacity to participate in solving problems related to design and manufacturing in the field of Materials Science and Engineering.
The program has been internationally accredited by AUN-QA (the quality assurance organization of the ASEAN university network).

- Admission is based on the results of the high school graduation exam (A00; A01; D07, K01)
- Admission based on the results of the Thinking Assessment Exam (K00)
Scholarship: 30-40 scholarships/year from businesses
Students do experiments on physical vapor evaporation (PVD) equipment
TYPICAL JOB POSITIONS:
- Engineers design, calculate, and simulate materials, operate, and do research on new materials in corporations and enterprises operating in the industrial field. This job can not only work in the country but also abroad.
- The position of management and supervision to control the sources of input materials for works and projects, with the production of components and the use of materials.
- Officers in charge of engineering in factories and enterprises producing materials, such as factories producing cement, iron and steel, metals and non-ferrous alloys, ceramics, glass, and composites, etc.
- Operations engineers work in companies related to the production lines of metals and alloys, metallurgy, casting, steel rolling, heat treatment and surfactants... identify and control inappropriate problems related to input materials, technological equipment, people, working methods affecting product quality, production targets to improve equipment systems, ways to organize production to improve product quality, production targets.
- Engineers specializing in manufacturing materials, equipment for industrial and civil production, producing wind and solar energy sources, producing batteries, batteries, electronic components, etc.
- Positions of technicians, technical managers, product quality managers in enterprises, research institutes, inspection agencies, customs, measurement centers, quality standards institutes.
- Have the opportunity to become a technical sales director in the field of consulting, supplying materials and equipment for production facilities in mechanical engineering, machinery and equipment.
- Officials working in state administrative units with the function of controlling the field of materials such as departments, departments, institutes, import and export of materials.
- Working as a lecturer or researcher in universities, research institutes, and research centers with activities in the field of materials.
- Opportunities to study abroad for postgraduate studies are always open, many scholarships from foreign organizations and professors for materials students.
