Scientific background


INTRODUCTION

Dr. Le Thi Bang is currently a lecturer in the Department of Materials Science, Heat and Surface Treatment, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Dr. Le Thi Bang graduated from Hanoi University of Technology, majoring in Materials Science, Heat and Surface Treatment in 2007; received a Master's degree in Materials Science, University of Science Malaysia in 2009; and completed her PhD thesis in Biomedical Materials under the Sandwich program between the University of Science Malaysia and Kyushu University, Japan in 2009. Dr. Le Thi Bang worked at Uppsala University, Sweden and Kyushu University, Japan before returning to Hanoi University of Science and Technology as a lecturer from 2019 until now. Her current researches is: Synthesis of materials for biomedical applications, fabrication and investigation of biomaterial coating on metals implants. Research on materials for applications in water purification and CO2 adsorption; Materials characterization.

RESEARCH INTEREST

  • Inorganic bone substitute materials, particular in biomaterials, which are related to the reconstruction and regeneration of hard tissue such as tooth and bone.
  • Porous calcium phosphate bioceramics and their composites using biopolymers, i.e. PCL, PLGA, etc..
  • Coating of inorganic bone substitute materials on metal implants (Ti/CoCr alloys) used for orthopaedic and dental applications.
  • Materials for environment application.
